4 hours 19 minutes

Wickham tree protection zone If you live in Newcastle, I have good news.

It only takes 4 hours and 19 minutes to reach Boggabri – which is then only about 15 minutes from the Front Line Action on Coal camp at Maules Creek.

Two friends and I drove up on Saturday to visit and thank the campaigners who for 163 days have been camped in the Leard Forest to stop the expansion of Whitehaven and Boggabri mines.

There’s a great photo of Jonathon and Murray in this Namoi Valley Independent article from last year.

It was 46 degrees C in the forest but when YOU visit the heatwave should be over.

These campaigners are amazing.

Here’s one blog post from FLAC about how you can help. And thanks to Greenpeace for their ads.
