Agonis

This is a beautiful old agonis flexuosa from Hamilton South.

Sadly these aren’t being replaced with the same species.

A former GM of our council is reputed not to have liked these lovely trees and I presume that’s reflected in the staff left in her wake.

Agonis doesn’t rate a mention in the incomprehensible street tree masterplan (known forever after as STUMP) and streets like this lovely one are now a dog’s breakfast of plane trees under powerlines and tallow wood rrees and banksias.

Shame.

Enjoyed putting in a code of conduct complaint against one of my favourite council officers this week.
