Bye, bye blackbird

Or magpie or native cuckoo shrike or tawny frog mouth.
Something would have been using these (Chatham Rd, Broadmeadow) trees.
Doesn’t matter. They won in Laman Street. NCC can take out any tree they like now.
The $2mill was worth it.

30.6.2012: I was reminded by a friend of a Council meeting in ??2010 where John Johnston, infrastructure something-or-other, briefed Councillors about trees. He told them that NCC only remove trees if they’re unstable. This was just after a row of native trees had been removed from King Street to do up the footpath. Stable schmable.
