NEW GENERAL MANAGER SETTLES INTO TOP JOB

NEW GENERAL MANAGER SETTLES INTO TOP JOB.

This story tells us that Mr Pearce hasn’t delved into the issues in detail. Fortunately he did manage to sign his name to the four-page letter that was sent to Justice McHugh about Laman Street before Mr McHugh declined to assist with mediation (see next post).

In spite of planned mediation being between Save Our Figs and Council (the GM, Cr Claydon, Cr Cook, Cr Jackson and Cr Osborne) the letter listed other possible stakeholders in the Laman Street issue, which included about 30 organisations, 10 000 petition signatories two senior Council officers, and any number of other council employees who have been closely involved all along.

It’s unbelievably disappointing to see an approach like this that seems to do nothing but complicate matters when all parties should be entering into this in a spirit of goodwill and cooperation.

Is it just me or is the air thick with a sense of deja vu?

Thats exactly what i thought! GM claims he wont get into the debate, because “oh whats his opinion worth heh”….but how about after his first GM official Council meeting he perhaps tries to spook the Mediator away with a little 4 page letter? Quickly before all that proper process the Council & Community just lobbied & worked & VOTED on, can be implemented.

Is there any problem letting Parks and Playgrounds and NCC (the parties involved in the L and E court case) be the parties to the mediation? Surely not? Am I missing something?
