A good response from the Lord Mayor and from Caity Raschke on NBN.

The insurance company should have a broader view of its client, Newcastle, and not merely cherry pick (fig pick) insuring what it considers as free from any potential claim. That would rather diminish the value of any insurance policy.

Also, the serendipity of Statewide’s intervention in this matter appears less than random, given recent efforts to again remove the trees.

Statewide Mutual provides the cheapest way for its member councils, well over a hundred, to be indemnified. Someone needs to check into complaints about the way Statewide Mutual conduct what is actually the business of councils – over sighting the state-mandated insurance requirements for hundreds of thousands of ratepayers. I am one of them.
