Bee in a bonnet 2.5.2011

At the first meeting of the Laman Street working party, there was a brief discussion about removing parking from around the trees.

My recollection is that a member of the Council’s management team said the row of fig trees was ‘greening up’ now that their roots are protected from the effect of cars compressing the root zones.

In the days since, I’ve managed to turn this into spin. It seems to me that implied in this statement is the assertion that the trees weren’t green (insert ‘healthy’)¬†before, so I thought I’d share some photos with you.

Even the arborist who damned these trees from the beginning, Mr Marsden, had no problem with the health of the canopy. The first shot was taken a year ago. The second was taken yesterday. They both look pretty good to me. Home
