Figs in Joynton Ave

This picture is taken from the City of Sydney Significant Tree Register. It looks so much like the trees throughout Cooks Hill, including on the southern side of Laman Street.

There are half a dozen streets that I looked at in their photo gallery and none of the entries in the descriptions talk about ripping out or replacing the trees.

Their approach is to maintain the trees, not plan to get rid of them as soon as possible.

I have seen some lovely council things lately: the Norfolk Island Pines at the eastern end of Parkway Avenue are fantastic, and council have replaced a little torn tree in Hunter Street that I happened to photograph a few weeks ago. I just happened to see it on my way to second-hand-bookshop therapy today. I hope the vandals will leave it alone this time.                               Home
