Honeysuckle vision vs as it is

I had to share this.

I was reading about New Urbanism, which as far as I can tell is about making cities walkable and sustainable. Inspiring stuff, some of it. Honeysuckle and Linwood are apparently examples of this. When I was doing letter-box drops in Linwood I thought it was beautiful: I hadn’t been in there before; there are lots of figs (!) and native gardens; it’s very safe to walk around and the water is right outside people’s doors.

Honeysuckle is nice in its way and a Sunday morning walk along the harbour is very pleasant. In the planning stages there was some green space for people to sit and enjoy the horbour. The cost of the real estate must have hit home at some point though:                                             Home
